Don’t just have accounts on multiple platforms because you’re ‘covering all the bases.’ Make sure that you spend your time concentrating on the platforms that will help you to grow and land those contracts. Wasting your time updating lots of accounts won’t help you land that next role, find the platforms that work best for you and stick to those.
Start a conversation
If you’re using Facebook for your business, you need to make sure people are interacting with you, so they keep seeing your posts. To maximise the potential for interaction with your contacts, make sure you post interesting articles or questions to get people involved.

It’s not just about your profile and your business. By making sure you are interacting with other people and businesses, you are also expanding your network. Think about the 10 or 20 most important people to you and your business – follow their posts, tweets and share and comment on their posts to help them build their network. Stand Out
You want to stand out from the crowd on whichever platforms you will be using. Make sure you complete all aspects of your profile; use pictures and images to brighten up your profile; share interesting articles and blogs. BUT make sure you stand out for the right reasons. Whatever your personal opinions, your business pages aren’t the place to share your thoughts on the government, religion or other hot button issues. This will only succeed in isolating potential clients and have the opposite effect of what you were trying to achieve.
